26/6/2008 Next PostSally Hi,
I saw the amazing star ceiling on D.I.Y S.O.S last night and found your site this morning. I was looking at your D.I.Y kit. How easy is it for someone like me with no artistic talent to create a ceiling using your kit? I'm a bit worried about making a mess of it!
Thanks,
Sally Starz Ceilings Hi Sally,
It's really easy - you'd find it hard to make a mess of it!
The techniques are actually very simple and they're are all laid out in the illustrated instruction booklet - it's just four easy steps to an amazing ceiling.
Everything you need is in the can.
You can't go wrong! Caro Hi,
I'm also wondering about the DIY kit- does it come with stencils and that's how the ceiling is created? I'm a bit unclear as to how the tiny star effect is created without being an art guru.
Many thanks,
Caro Starz Ceilings Hi Caro,
Our stencil effects are created using a specialist paint not supplied with the kit (but also available on request) which is applied very sparingly to the area, in order to ensure that it remains invisible in the daytime. In the kit, you will find the paint needed to create milky way, black holes, shooting stars and stars of varying sizes.
Stencils are not included with the Cosmos In A Can Kit, but are also available an request. We have many styles in stock and they are produced using mylar which is ideal for the purpose. Our stencils can be used and re-used many times over and they start at £6.00, rising in price depending if we have what you require in stock, or if it needs to be specially created for you. If you are not sure if we can produce what you'd like - just ask - we usually can!
The very tiny stars are created using a special (but simple) tool that is not available in any other Star Ceiling Kit. This Magic Star Making Tool will enable you to create stars of varying sizes - from pinprick size to a diameter of around about a centimetre and it is vital in creating a star ceiling that appears to be so 3D that you could just reach up into it!
